Kiev Forces Suffer Losses After Failed Attacks In Kursk (Videos)

The Russian military’s Sever Group of Forces inflicted heavy losses on several Ukrainian formations and repelled multiple counter-attacks by Kiev forces in the Kursk direction, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in its October 30 briefing.

According to the ministry, Ukraine’s 22nd, 41st, 115th mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd, 95th air assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, as well as the 103rd, 112th, and 129th territorial defense brigades took losses near the settlements of Daryino, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, and Plyokhovo.

Eight counter-attacks by Kiev forces were also repelled close to the settlements of Daryino, Nizhnyi Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, and Plyokhovo, the ministry said in its briefing.

“The losses amounted to up to 70 people killed and wounded, a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, six armored fighting vehicles, and three motor vehicles,” it continued.

In addition, the ministry said that Russian air and artillery strikes hit gatherings of manpower and equipment belonging to the 21st, 41st, 47th, and 61st mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd, and 95th air assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, as well as the 1st Special Operations Brigade, 103rd, 112th, 129th territorial defense brigades, and the 17th National Guard Brigade of Ukraine in Kursk.

The gatherings were hit near the settlements of Aleksandriya, Viktorovka, Guyevo, Daryino, Kazachya Loknya, Kolmakov, Kruglenkoye, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Martynovka, Mikhaylovka, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolskiy, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Plyokhovo, Sverdlikovo, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, and Yuzhny.

Other strikes hit the reserves of the 21st, 22nd, 41st, 61st, 115th mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 95th Air Assault Brigade, as well as the 129th Territorial Defence Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and 1st National Guard close to the settlements of Basovka, Belovody, Zhuravka, Loknya, Obody, Pavlovka, and Khoten in the Ukrainian region of Sumy, which borders Kursk.

“During the day, AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] losses amounted to more than 350 troops, 25 armored vehicles including a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, and 23 armored fighting vehicles, as well as two mortars, an armored recovery vehicle, and 25 motor vehicles,” the ministry detailed in its briefing.

Separately, Russian media shared several videos showing some of the strikes that hit Kiev forces in Kursk and Sumy over the last few days.

Kiev forces attacked Kursk last August. The Russian military is currently conducting a counter-attack. So far, nearly half of the settlements initially occupied by Ukrainian troops have been liberated.

According to the Russian MoD, since the start of the battle in Kursk Kiev forces have lost 28,000 troops, 180 tanks, 101 infantry fighting vehicles, 106 armored personnel carriers, 1,055 armored fighting vehicles, 759 motor vehicles, 240 artillery guns, 40 launchers, including 11 American-made HIMARS and six MLRS systems, nine air defense systems, seven transport-loading vehicles, 58 electronic warfare stations, 12 counter-battery radars, three aerial radars, 25 engineering vehicles, including 13 counter obstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, five armored recovery vehicle and one command post vehicle.
