Kiev forces attempted to advance in several directions with no success, according to the September 10 briefing of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled two attacks by Ukraine’s 53rd and 110th mechanized brigades close to Vodyanoye and Krasnogorovka. The group also targeted gatherings of manpower and equipment near Kleshcheyevka, Krasnoye and Maloilyinovka.
The ministry said that Kiev forces lost 260 troops, two armored fighting vehicles and five motor vehicles during the fighting in this direction.
Meanwhile in the Zaporozhye direction, six attacks by the 65th Mechanised Brigade of Kiev forces were repelled by Russian forces close to Rabotino. Several Ukrainian deployment points near Novoandreyevka, north of Rabotino and northwest of Verbovoye were also targeted.
Up to 80 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles, and two pickup trucks were neutralized in this direction according to the ministry.
In addition, an Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer; American-made-made M198, M119 and M777 towed howitzers as well as Msta-B and D-20 towed howitzers were destroyed by counter-battery fire.
A Swedish-made ARTHUR counter-battery radar station was also targeted and destroyed by Russian forces close to Shirokoye.
Moreover, ammunition depots of Ukraine’s 82nd Air Assault Brigade and the 9th Army Corps were targeted near Trudovoye and Rizdvyanka.
In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled an attack by the Ukrainian 37th Marine Brigade near Novodonetskoye.
The group also carried out air and artillery strikes against gatherings of manpower and equipment from the 72nd Mechanised Brigade and the 38th Marine Brigade close to Nikolskoye, Novomayorskoye and Ugledar.
Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 130 troops, four motor vehicles and one Msta-B towed howitzer, according to the ministry.
In the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled an attack by the 67th Mechanised Brigade near Chervonaya Dibrova.
The group also targeted gatherings of the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade, the 5th Ukrainian National Guard Brigade, and the 67th Mechanised Brigade in the vicinity of Kuzmino and Chervonaya Dibrova.
Over 50 Ukrainian troops were killed in this direction, the ministry said, adding that one armored fighting vehicle, two pickup trucks, two Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers and one D-30 towed howitzer were destroyed.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled two attacks by Ukraine’s 25th Airborne Brigade near Kuzemovka. Kiev forces lost 35 troops, one tank, two motor vehicles and one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer during the fighting.
Moreover, an ammunition depot of the 1st Special Forces Brigade was targeted and destroyed by the group close to Volchanskiye Khutora.
And in the Kherson direction, Kiev forces lost more than 20 troops, two motor vehicles and two D-30 towed howitzers to Russian military fire.
The Russian MoD also provided the following details during its briefing:
Operational-Tactical Aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Armed Forces’ groups of forces engaged manpower and military hardware of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 117 areas.
In addition, a P-18 air target detection and tracking radar station was destroyed at a position uncovered by reconnaissance means near Lukashevo (Zaporozhye region).
Fire struck command and observation posts of the 77th Airmobile, 93rd Mechanised, 100th Territorial Defense brigades, and 15th Regiment of the Ukrainian National Guard in the vicinity of Spornoye and Serebryanka (Donetsk People’s Republic).
The Russian Naval Aviation detected and destroyed three U.S.-made Willard speedboats in the Black Sea at night, each carrying up to 36 members of the AFU special operations forces in landing groups.
Air defense and electronic warfare systems destroyed and suppressed 42 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of Ocheretovatoye, Novoye, Ulyanovka, and Kharkovo (Zaporozhye region), Ploshchanka, Belogorovka, and Rubezhnoye (Lugansk People’s Republic), Spornoye, Soledar, and Gorlovka (Donetsk People’s Republic), Novaya Mayachka and Velyka Lepetikha (Kherson region).
In total, 467 airplanes and 248 helicopters, 6,582 unmanned aerial vehicles, 436 air defense missile systems, 11,773 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,149 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,319 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 12,883 units of special military hardware have been destroyed during the special military operation.
In addition, Russian news sources shared videos showing recent strikes with Lancet loitering munitions against Ukrainian military equipment, including four American-made M777 towed howitzers, two Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzers, a Ukrainian-made Nota electronic warfare system and two unidentified command vehicles.
Overall, Ukraine’s counteroffensive appears to be on track for complete failure. Despite sustaining heavy human and material losses, Kiev forces are making very little gains. The Kiev regime could keep the counteroffensive going until winter in order to appease its backers. However, the cost will be very high.
