On July 5, three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded, another one was killed as a result of shelling in Eastern Ukraine. This was reported by the press center of the Joint Forces Operation.

“Today, on July 05, the armed formations of the Russian Federation once again violated the ceasefire regime and fired at the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the area of responsibility of the operational-tactical group EAST. As a result of the shelling, one serviceman was killed, three were injured, ” the message on Facebook reads.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old major of the 93 brigade Bogdan Brodovsky.

On the other hand, officials of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) commented on the Ukrainian losses.

According to DPR intelligence, 5 militants of the 93rd mechanized brigade were killed or injured on July 5 as a result of a mine explosion.

According to preliminary information, a group of 93 brigade staff officers consisting of the deputy commander for the rear, the heads of food and clothing services with a security guard at 16.40 were returning from the base of the 2nd battalion to the brigade headquarters.

“During the movement, the driver of the car lost control over the vehicle and drove to the road side where the vehicle was blown up on a mine. As a result of the explosion, one officer was killed, four were injured” – the report reads.

The Ukrainian occupiers soldiers reported on the death and injury of the militants by radio, requesting urgent medical assistance. Later, a “silence regime” was requested in the JCCC for the evacuation of the bodies. The ‘silence regime’ was followed by DPR forces.

“It is important to note that this is the second case of a car bombing of the 93rd brigade over the past day, which clearly demonstrates the complete lack of control on the part of the brigade command and the disregard of the Ukrainian occupiers for the elementary requirements of mine safety” – the report added.
