Russia’s Kalashnikov Group on February 25 unveiled a brand new loitering munition with a range exceeding 100 kilometers.
“The Kalashnikov Group is the first in Russia to develop the Kub-10ME tactical guided munition system with a range of over 100 km. The system was created in record time based on the experience of active deployment of guided munitions in the special military operation zone,” the group said in a statement.
According to the group, the KUB-10ME is capable of performing tasks at altitudes from 80 to 1800 meters with a cruising speed of 120 kilometers per hour, during day and night, in simple and complex weather conditions, amid wind speeds up to ten meters per second, and in a temperature range from -30 °C to +40 °C.
Kalashnikov noted that the key feature of the new loitering munition is its electro-optical guidance system, which allows it to engage moving targets, and offers higher protection against electronic warfare.
The KUB-10ME was designed for high-precision strikes against unarmored and lightly armored military vehicles; command posts; personnel; electronic warfare means; air defense systems; logistics support assets; drone launch systems; and aircraft parked on the ground.
The loitering munition has a basic design, with a high-wing configuration, v-tail and the electro-optical guidance system placed in the front like a seeker, according to a photo released by Kalashnikov.
The photo also reveals that the loitering munition is propelled by what appears to be a two stroke fuel engine, which explains the long range.
Kalashnikov is expanding the development and production of unmanned systems. Earlier this month at the World Defense Show 2026 exhibition in Saudi Arabia, the group unveiled the RUS-PE, a lighter x-winged loitering munition that is launched from a container and an estimated range of 70 kilometers.
