Jihadists capture Shalaf village in northern Latakia

AlMasdarNews reports: Latakia (5:15 A.M.): The jihadist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), backed by the Turkmen Islamic Party and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, reportedly captured the village of Shalaf in northern Latakia on Wednesday.

These jihadists were able to retake Shalaf on Wedneday after launching another powerful assault against the Syrian Armed Forces near the key mountaintop town of Kinsibba.

Shalaf was captured by the jihadist rebels just 24 hours after they seized several small villages near Kinsibba, including Ballah and Ruwaysat Shakara.

The Syrian Armed Forces have now withdrawn from all of the villages and hilltops they captured last weekend at the Kurdish Mountains (Jabal Al-Akrad) of northeastern Latakia.
