Jaish al-Izza Militants Attack Syrian Army Positions Near Turkish Observation Post In Northern Hama

On July 2, Syrian government forces repelled an attack by militants of Jaish al-Izza in the area of Tal Bazam in northern Hama.

Government positions attacked by militants are located north of a Turkish observation post near the militant-held town of Morek. The observation post is intended to monitor the de-escalation zone agreement in the area.

Jaish al-Izza is one of the key allies of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in the militant-held parts of Idlib, Hama and Aleppo provinces.

The continued attacks by militants on the Syrian Army and its allies show gaps in the de-escalation zone agreement reached by Turkey, Iran and Russia in the so-called Astana format.

The problem of this agreement that Turkish forces and their proxies are not hurrying up to combat Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and linked groups in their zone of responsibility in western Idlib.

Quite obviously after most of Daraa has been liberated – apart from the Isis pocket near the 1974 CFL and some villages occupied by Wahhabists North of it, the SAA needs to get the M5 through Idlibistan back. I wouldn’t even be suprised if there is already some sort of agreement and a few attacks like these will allow the SAA to progress without Turkeys interference, who in return might be allowed to keep their observation posts for some time in the liberated areas. The M4 and everything South of it needs to be taken as well…

Turkey’s inability, or unwillingness to do jack shit shows what utter unreliable ally Erdogan is. Making deals with this snake is like making a deal with the devil. Except that I think i just insulted the Great Dark Lord Lucifer.

Agreed, the Turkish observation posts are only there to check on SAA movements. They are not doing anything about HTS, and may even be supplying them with intelligence.

Morek is an illegal outpost raise it to the ground I say.

If Turkey’s illegal outpost at Morek is struck who cares shouldn’t even be there , nice we see allies of HTS such as Jaish al Izza and useless Turks doing nothing in violation several times over Astana agreement. Erdogan needs to be brought to a war crimes tribunal and be done with this Sultan Sodomite.

Morek and others are illegal outposts and shouldn’t be allowed and they must go. Now with Raqqa and the oilfields returning and recruiting offices in Northern Syria opening up should put the US out of business in Syria.

Of course they “shouldn’t be allowed”. Just as the occupation of the Golan Heights is illegal. It’s going to be a different matter to take back the Golan Heights from Wahhabi head choppers vs taking back those parts that are occupied by the Zionists. The Turkish presence in Syria is illegal, just as much as they have invaded Northern Cyprus and declared a country nobody recognizes (except for Turkey). They know they can get away with it – i doubt they will in Syria. Nevertheless, the Syrian Government and the SAA can’t ignore the fact that they are there and therefore need to be taken into account, with every political as well as military move.
