The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that their troops shot down two drones that violated the country’s airspace on August 11.

The first drone was shot down in the northern region, in the eastern part of the Blue Line that separates Israeli-held areas from Lebanon’s territory. The IDF said that the drone was launched by Hezbollah.

The army did not share any additional details on the incident or release photos of the downed drone. Hezbollah has not commented on the incident, either.

The second drone was shot down in the southern region, near the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, the drone was launched from the Palestinian area by the Hamas Movement.

The IDF released a photo of the downed drone, which was identified as a commercially-available DJI MATRICE 600 PRO.

The exact same drone was used by the IDF in 2018 to target Palestinian protesters in the Gaza Strip with tear gas grenades. After crashing in the Palestinian area, Hamas seized the drone and began to use it to monitor Israeli military posts.

The situation on Israel’s northern and southern fronts remains far from being stable. In May, a leader of Hamas revealed that the group was coordinating with Hezbollah during the last battle in the Gaza Strip.
