The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on August 27 that it had rescued another Israeli hostage, Farhan al-Qadi, from the southern Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the IDF said that 52-year-old al-Qadi was found inside a tunnel by commandos of the Israeli Navy’s Shayetet 13 unit and troops of the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit. The operation was led by the Southern Command, the Shin Bet security agency, and the 162nd Division.
Al-Qadi was alone in the tunnel where the special forces located him. No other hostages or Hamas fighters were alongside him and Israeli troops did not face any resistance.
According to the IDF al-Qadi was not inside this tunnel for the entire ten months of captivity, and he was believed to have been moved around several times.
Al-Qadi, from a Bedouin community near the southern city of Rahat, was working as a guard at a packing factory in the settlement of Magen, close to Gaza when he was captured by fighters from the Hamas Movement during the October 7 attack.
IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari described the operation as “brave and complex,” and based on precise intelligence.
The spokesman also denied rumors that al-Qadi managed to escape the tunnel in which he was held, saying that troops “rescued Farhan from underground, he met our forces underground.”
This was the fourth successful rescue operation by the IDF since the outbreak of the war in Gaza. The first was the rescue of soldier Ori Megidish in late October. In February, Fernando Marman and Louis Har were rescued. In June, Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv were rescued. More than 270 Palestinians were killed in that operation.
The IDF believes that 104 of the 251 hostages abducted by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza, including the bodies of 34 confirmed dead. A temporary ceasefire in late November saw 105 civilian hostages released from Hamas captivity and four hostages were released before that.
Eight hostages have been rescued by the IDF alive, and the bodies of 30 hostages have also been recovered. Hamas is also holding two Israeli civilians who entered the Strip in 2014 and 2015. In addition, the bodies of two Israeli soldiers who were killed in 2014 remain in the hands of the group.
It’s worth noting that IDF operations in Gaza have so far claimed the lives of more than 40,500 Palestinains mostly women and children.
Despite the heavy death toll, Israel appears to be determined to go on with the war, endangering the lives of remaining hostages.

running out of hostages. we are getting really close to sinwar.
with all the lies these people peddle endlessly, is this even real?
this was a goodwill gesture of the hamas (also meant to put more pressure on satanyahood by israels civilians) – but instead of doing ceasefire for humanitarian aid – israel is pushing forward to bring killer vaccination to mio of palestinian kids now under their control. spread the news and warn them (palis) please. https://2cm.es/vackill
how did you know the ziopig was lying? simple, it’s mouth was open. there is no such thing as goodwill and no deal they won’t double cross.
no rescue at all. hamas made a deal with the diaper heads and the khazar jumped at it. that simple.
in view of the jews have killed more than 40000 palestinians i doubt anyone would have objected if hamas had killed off the hostage after a certain period of time when the genocidal intents of the jews were clear!
clowns.”brave and complex”. got a guy from a tunnel without firing a shot. that’s the israeli definition of brave. just like slaughterin a quarter of a million civilians is according to these monsters “defending themselves”. the biggest mass murdering psychopaths in history.
i don’t think genghis khan killed as many people or percentage of the population as they have. i may be wrong but genghis khan didn’t have a penchant for torturing children also, like these jacobites feigning godliness do.
another hostage that they made possible as the plan they conceived along with the u.$. to start this offensive on october 7???… and why the upcoming 22nd anniversary in manhattan as unresolved is the most important lesson and chapter of our century to all of those in power who have the solemn duty and obligation to investigate these crimes against humanity so that they do not perpetuate.
if this is regarded as the successful recovery of the hostages, i’d hate to think what failure would look like. but it is an example of how the zionist and western media promote what is a continuing dismal failure into a glorious propaganda success.
failure of the mission is like before when they gun their own hostages down mistaking them for palestinians with white surrender flags, i mean bombs.
i’m not so sure i’m believing any of that story.
idf uses pizza delivery man as human shield, cnn, spins story of “rescued hostage”, as a nice lil cover up story.
netanyahu is keeping everyone hostage. the us congress, uk parliament, the eu, his own conscripted soldiers, the west bank, gaza, and everyone suffering hyperinflation and hyperbolic antisemitism laws and media bullshit in every zionist gangster blackmailed country. billions of hostages, and he doesn’t give a shit about any of them unless they serve the amalek narrative.
