The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) admitted on May 7 that two reserve soldiers were killed in a Hezbollah drone attack against a military site near the settlement of Metula on the border with Lebanon a day earlier.
In a brief statement, the IDF said it attempted, but failed, to intercept the suicide drone that ultimately struck and killed the soldiers who were both serving in the ranks of the 551st Brigade’s 6551st Battalion. Another soldier was lightly wounded in the attack, the IDF added.
Videos posted to social networks showed an Israeli F-15 fighter jets flying at an extremely low altitude over Metula during the failed attempt to intercept the suicide drone launched by Hezbollah.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement, saying that it was carried out in support of the Palestinian people and resistance in the Gaza Strip. The group’s Military Media also released aerial footage of the targeted site which was apparently taken by a reconnaissance drone.
Prior to the deadly drone attack, Hezbollah fired a barrage of some 30 rockets at a headquarters of the IDF at the Nafah base in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Material losses were reported, but no casualties.
In response to the two attacks, the IDF said fighter jets struck a building used by Hezbollah in the town of Srebbine as well as a rocket-launching post in the town of Ayta al-Shaab. Israeli troops also shelled areas near the town of Souaneh with artillery to “remove threats,” the IDF added.
All three towns hit by the IDF are located in southern Lebanon. There were no reports of any casualties in Lebanese media.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.
So far, the clashes have resulted in nine civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 13 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 400 people have been killed, including 272 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 70 civilians.

and afther landing, how was the smell in the cocpit? shitty ? at low altitude they can be hit !!!
