Israeli Army Abducts Man From Southern Syria

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on November 21 that it had detained a Syrian man who crossed into the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

In a statement, the military said that the suspect individual “did not stop in response to calls by soldiers, was shot in the leg and transferred to Ziv Medical Center in Safed for further treatment and investigation.”

The Israeli Ynet news website reported that the suspect crossed the Alpha Line, which marks the demilitarized zone in the Golan Heights. He did not however breach the Israeli security fence in the area.

The man was identified by Syrian activists as Mahmoud Hilal al-Fneish, a shepherd from the town of al-Rafeed in the countryside of the southern governorate of al-Qunitra. The activists said that the man crossed into the occupied part of the Golan Heights by mistake. Al-Rafeed is located right on the Alpha Line.

The IDF increased its presence on the Golan front and began building a barrier there after the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip last year.

In recent months, there were several reports of Israeli infiltrations into southern Syria. The IDF itself revealed earlier this month that its troops detained a man suspected of spying for Iran during a raid in the southern governorate of Daraa. The raid was carried out by members of the Egoz commando unit along with field interrogators of the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504.

The man, Ali Soleiman al-Assi from the town of Saida in the western countryside of Daraa, was tasked by Iran with “gathering intelligence on IDF troops in the border area for future terror activity of the network,” the military claimed at the time.

the ‘south front’ comment sections is hosting a peculiar artistic display today. our friend ‘snowden’, employing various borrowed aliases, aims to mimic a monkey and interfere with the forum by sharing absurdities and nato propaganda, which are frequently one and the same. do not throw bananas. we appreciate your patience.

you have to wonder why the idf did not call in the f15s to bomb the hell of this wandering man.

Remember the USS Liberty

this man should consider himself lucky, he didn’t get turned into groundmeat and flat roadkill like many of those tens of thousands of starving, poor, innocent, palestinian women, children and newborns under rubble, in hospitals, in refugee camps and in tents in gaza.
