Israel is expanding its military operations in southern Syria amid the ceasefires in the Palestinian Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.
After establishing seven posts inside and outside the buffer zone along the occupied Golan Heights, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) advanced on January 22 to the outskirts of the town of Abu Ghara in the southern Quneitra countryside. Israeli troops also entered al-Jamousa base, before withdrawing from the area.
The incursion “angered local residents, amid continued daily violations suffered by border villages in the province,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
Over the night of January 23 and 24, engineers from the IDF blew up a minefield close to the town of al-Qahtaniyah in the western Quneitra countryside. The move was apparently meant to enhance the protection of their positions along the buffer zone.
A more serious incident took place later on January 24 when Israeli troops shot a Syrian civilian and arrested another close to the town of Kwdana in the southern al-Quneitra countryside. IDF bulldozers were operating close to the town at the time of the incident. The fate of the two victims remains unclear.
The IDF invaded southern Syria just a few hours after the fall of the Assad regime last December and launched hundreds of airstrikes against the bases and equipment of the now dissolved Syrian Arab Army, destroying much of the country’s defensive and offensive combat capabilities.
The new Syrian government, which is led by the Islamist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, condemned the hostile actions of Israel, but refrained from responding even after some of its security personnel were killed in an Israeli drone strike in al-Quneitra earlier this month.

rome celebrated the fact that it was considered the most bloodthirsty empire ever. it celebrated mars as the god of war.
good story. where did you get it from?
a “j” doing what it does best blaming it’$” crimes on the victim!… they are some of the best storytellers when they are not cooking books with alchemy in the money lending enterprise!!!
of course, the wettest of jewish dreams or the dream of a super israel in the middle east can never sleep. and the americ*nts will help. turkey and iran will prevent the genocidal landgrabbing jews from succeeding (and the rest of mankind as well)!
if ertogan wanted to stop israel he’d stop selling them oil. idk if turkey will prevent this dream if theirs to come true.
selling oil to the jews is of no consequence – business as usual. erdogan is more of rebuilding the ottoman empire and the jews are in the way. thus selling oil or figs or apples or about anything to the jews won’t change the overall situation on the ground! so no more silly things about selling oil to the jews by erdogan!
oil is important. just ask the syrians after the us soldiers took theirs.
maybe russia, iran and assad’s forces should have gone after the americans in syria that were taking that nations oil and farmland.
when shit hits the fan i’m going hunting for jewish childeren to rape and burn them to death and nobody can stop me in the netherlands. waiting for shit hitting the fan……
already spotted 23 jewish families with childeren to torture to death and film everything while doing it.
hence the ‘ceasefire’ in gaza. the isreali apartheid regime need the troops for syria and el sham will just let them walk in and take it. syria today, iran tomorrow. jordan better watch its borders too as some of that belongs to the ‘greater isreal’.
