The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on July 28 that a soldier who was critically wounded last week in the southern Gaza Strip area of Rafah had succumbed to his injuries.
The soldier was serving in the Givati Brigade’s Shaked Battalion. He was hit by an anti-tank projectile that was fired at a building he was in in Rafah on July 20, and taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to a statement released by the IDF.
The death of the soldier brought Israel’s toll in the ground operations against Hamas and other armed factions in Gaza and along its border to 331. More than 2,000 other troops have been wounded in the Strip, so far.
The IDF has been facing fierce resistance from the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian factions in Rafah and other areas of Gaza.
On July 27, Hamas’ military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, released video footage showing its fighters engaging Israeli main battle tanks, targeting soldiers and firing at an attack helicopter in Gaza City’s Tell al-Hawa neighborhood in the northern part of the Strip.
Two other videos released on the same day by the al-Qus Brigade, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, showed several recent mortar and rocket attacks on IDF gatherings in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis and other areas.
While the IDF is failing against Hamas and other factions in Gaza, it continues to bombard the Strip, causing more civilian casualties.
The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza reported more than 40 deaths on July 27. Most of the victims were reportedly women and children.
“Israeli forces killed 41 people and injured 103 others in four ‘massacres’ against families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said in a statement.
“Many people are still trapped under rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.
Including the latest deaths, the toll from the Israeli war on Gaza has reached 39,258, according to the ministry, which noted that more than 90,589 others have been wounded in the Strip, so far. The numbers will likely continue to increase as Israel does not appear to be willing to accept a ceasefire.

it’s way worse. they are toast soon w/o american intervention and more bodies in gaza. they have probably lost almost a quarter or one-third of their armored vehicles in gaza. hezbollah alone could attack if they wanted and finish israel off right now and israel would be no more. israel is nothing w/o american bombs and planes. if their small number of air fields are destroyed, they are totally sol. somebody is making sure hezbollah doesn’t do that.
israel could be overrun before america even has time to send troops it’s so bad. the idf psychos can kill civilians all day with american bombs, but the palestinian fighters are far more elusive than people hanging out in tent cities because their homes were demolished with family inside.
