The Islamic State (IS) terrorist group launched an offensive on strongholds of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in southern Hasaka. The attack was reflected and resulted in killing of at least 38 terrorists and wounding of many others of them, as well as in destroying of two bomb-laden suicide vehicles, belonging to the IS.

SDF fighters successfully repelled the attacks on their positions in the south of the village of al-Azavi in al-Shadadi region. After two days of clashes, the IS was pushed back from the villages of Kishish and Zeinat in the region.

Later, SDF fighters launched a raid on IS terrorists in the region and established full control over the town of al-Fadghami, whose pre-war population was about 5,000 residents.

IS terrorists were also driven out of the villages of al-Badi al-Sharqi and Shadid. Now clashes are ongoing near the villages of al-Ara and Saad, located further south of the Khabur River, where the IS seems to have set up a new defensive line.
