According to opposition sources, a suicide attacker targeted a headquarters of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in a textile factory near Idlib City. The suicide attacker blew up his car in a gathering of HTS fighters at the headquarters.
According to the opposition, 12 people were killed in the attack, including at least 8 HTS fighters, and 15 others were wounded. It’s believed that ISIS carried out the attack in retaliation for the campaign against its members in Idlib.
From its side, HTS continued its security campaign against ISIS members in the province of Idlib, where it managed to capture ISIS explosives and VBIEDs workshop in the town of Sarmin, east of Idlib. HTS found explosive belts in the workshop. HTS also announced that it had arrested 4 ISIS members in Idlib on Thursday.
Meanwhile, HTS issued an official statement accusing Souqour al-Sham, an Free Syrian Army group, of killing two HTS members, Ahmad al-Mamdouh and Abu Aziz, in the Al-Zawiya Mountain. Opposition sources claimed that the two men were arms dealers working for HTS.
According to opposition sources, HTS has already begun to mobilize its troops in the vicinity of the Al-Zawiya Mountain and demanded Souqour al-Sham to hand over the killers of the two men. If Souqour al-Sham doesn’t hand over the murderers, HTS may carry out a military operation against it in the Al-Zawiya Mountain.
It’s believed that HTS wants to use this issue as a pretext to strengthen its influence in the strategic Al-Zawiya Mountain area.
