Iraqi Resistance Destroyed American Sentinel Radar, Black Hawk Helicopter With FPV Drones (Video)

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI) hit an American radar and helicopter deployed at the diplomatic support center, formerly known as Camp Victory, near Baghdad International Airport in the country’s capital using first-person view (FPV) suicide drones in a new escalation.

The group, a coalition of Iran-aligned armed factions, released video footage of the attack early on March 25, and said that it took place two days earlier.

One of the FPV drones used in the attack took out an AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel, an X-band electronically steered pulse-doppler 3D radar system typically used for early warning and air defense. A single radar of this type could cost as much as $7 million.

Another drone targeted a UH-60M Black Hawk medium-lift military utility helicopter, which could costs as high as $25 million.

The video feed from the drones used in the attack appeared to be extremely clear, which suggests that the drones were guided via fiber-optic cables.

The IRI has been launching attacks against American forces in Iraq and neighboring countries since the start of the American-Israeli war on Iran, and the group’s factions have been documented using such drones in previous attacks, specifically in Baghdad.

FPV suicide drones are also believed to have been used in the March 14 attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad’s highly-fortified Green Zone. The attack destroyed a Giraffe 1X surveillance radar, worth around $2 million, and damaged a Ku-band Radio Frequency System (KuRFS) radar. The latter was a part of a Fixed Site-Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System (FS-LIDS), which cost well over $100 million.

FPV suicide drones that are guided via fiber-optic cables are completely jamming-proof, and they usually have a range of 10-20 kilometers. A single drone costs just a few hundred dollars.

Just two days earlier, Saraya Awliya al-Dam, a faction of the IRI, claimed that U.S. and NATO forces had completed a withdrawal from the diplomatic support center.

While this is yet to be officially confirmed, it is very possible that recent attacks made American forces leave the center abruptly, especially considering that there is still no real defense against FPV suicide drones, let alone ones guided via fiber-optic cables.

The IRI’s latest attacks dealt a serious blow to American forces in Iraq, which will likely limit its presence in the country to Baghdad’s Green Zone and the autonomous Kurdistan Region for the time being.

iraq is an occupied country but people still know and feel it. germany is also an occupied country but since 1945.

Aragorn

all of europe are in one way, or the other, occupied country since 1945, or later. often by murder of politicians, or by absurditys, as the unelected cia’s “eu”. its also occupied in the mind, by “nuclear weapon”, and by mass murder in the hospitals, performed by the politician parasites.

whatajoke

they just hate it when people fight back but their gonna get used to it

Redguard

they should have hit the engine part, not just the propeller.
also, they should do much more of these attacks, those targets seem to be sitting ducks, they must take this opportunity to destroy all those assets, especially the c-ram ad. i hope they have much more of those fpv drones. <3

impressive achievement. drone strikes like these are the way forward they have a decent impact on their ability to project power in the region.
