Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units Liberated Over 253km2 West Of Mosul

The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) captured over 253km2 north and west of the Iraqi city of Mosul between the areas of Tal Afar and Badush during the last few days.

On April 2, PMU fighters destroyed an ISIS armored vehicle killing 4 ISIS fighters in it around Tal Afar.

Separately, the PMU artillery destroyed the biggest ISIS VBIED and IED factory in the village of Abu Maria near Tal Afar.

According to the ISIS news agency of Amaq, ISIS terrorists carried out an attack targeting the Iraqi Federal Police positions in the Ras Al Jadah area in western Mosul. ISIS reportedly destroyed two armored vehicles belonging to the police. Furthermore, ISIS snipers killed 4 Iraqi soldiers. according to the ISIS media.

Amaq released photos showing ISIS snipers hitting a civilian in west Mosul while he was trying to get water from Iraqi soldiers. Amaq claimed that this civilian was an Iraqi SWAT fighter.

ISIS also claimed hitting of a helicopter belonging to the Iraqi Air Force over Mosul. The terrorist group also downed a mini drone used by Iraqi forces over the Makaui neighborhood in western Mosul.

According to local sources inside Mosul, over 25 civilians were killed on April 2 as a result of airstrikes carried out by the US-led collation’s airpower in the northern part of western Mosul.

Sources within the Iraqi government announced that the Iraqi military will launch soon a final phase of its operation in Mosul. The goal of the operation will be to capture the rest of the ISIS-held neighborhoods of the city.

The situation in Old Mosul is intense . ISIS is putting resistance there . And the snipers are very deadly . The Chechen -was finally killed today . He was the most deadliest .

Old Mosul is a tough nut to crack, hopefully Mosul operation can be wrapped up within a few weeks. Iraqi army then can take out Hawija pocket and PMU can advance west to the border.

Curious rug in first photo of article – under impression muslims on whole are disdainful toward dogs and wolves are not found that far geographically south of any natural wooded/ forest environments.
