Iraqi Kurdistan Says 93% Voted ‘Yes’ In Referendum Over Region’s Independence

According to the preliminary results of the Kurdistan Region’s independence referendum, provided by the High Referendum Council, nearly 93% of the votes are in favour of Kurdistan’s independence, with voter turnout of 72%.

The referendum covered not only the Kurdistan Regional Territories, but also among others the contensted oil-rich region of Kirkuk, which is controlled by Iraqi Kurdistan forces.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Iraq Haider-al Abadi got parliamentary permission to send troops in Kirkuk. Iraqi forces should take position in all contentious regions according to their state respective of up to July 10, 2014.

The Parliament stressed that the government should bring all oil deposits in Kirkuk and other contentious regions back under its control, and not allow any intervention from different parties present in the areas.

The Kurds occupied Kirkuk territory in the course of fighting ISIS. The region’s governor Najmaldin Karim stated that security forces would not allow the Army to enter the province.

“We know the Army’s position. It was present in Mosul, Hawija, Ramadi, and then it disappeared the moment ISIS soldiers appeared. In Kirkuk we rely upon our own security forces like Peshmerga, Asayish and the Police,” says Karim.

He also stressed that Kirkuk does not obey the Government of Iraq, or its Parliament.

Serious

“93% of the people in Kurdish region, Zoroastrians, Kurds, Arabs, Turkmens, Christians and Jews.”

So, they want Kurdistan with Arabs ??? XD. A joke. Arabs take back your lands !!!

Mikronos

Where was it written that non-Kurds got a vote?

Serious

In the twitter account.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They weren’t allowed to even vote as it was only for the 5.25 million Kurds exluding several millions of other people.Kurdish population in the region is 5.25 but they say only 4.85 million are eligible.

Kawa Asinger

5.25 million Kurds in total they live in the green line, not including the disputed areas, they are not all adults prick. Nice fucking logic faggot. And taking into account some did not vote. It makes sense prick. Take your emotions and shove it up your ass.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Did I hurt the little child’s feelings , you are living in a fantasy and you are the one being an idiot and vulgar. Seems you can’t even argue and have some repressed homophobic issues, have you discussed this with a psychologist that you are having these feelings.

Wonder how many Iraqi citizens in the region were excluded, do you know or are you just some empty headed stooge trying to be a land thief. Difference support the rule of law while you are just a thug and be glad this is a keyboard world , and you can shit talk all you want.

P.S:Though you should discuss you repressed feelings to someone.

Kawa Asinger

Fascist gonna fascist boy. Bring your sources? Your just emotionally butt hurt. Here let me help! ??

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The only fascist and racist butt hurt Kurd is having a crazy morning using an old myth and legend as a name , may as well called yourself Bok yemek. Try using UN data and not some wikipedia source, Try to get real sources before spouting nonsense you troll. What do you expect of a at horsizi who is a orospu cocugu, vir ibne comar!

Serious Dude

The non-sectarian Arabs. The racist-sectarians are militants and probably have been prophecied as “army of dajjal”.

Serious

What about the non-sectarian kurds ??? XD.

Serious Dude

Almost all Kurds are non-sectarian.

BL

They (Kurds) are already writing threatening messages on the walls telling Arabs and non-Kurds to leave “Kurdistan”. They will do a genocide and ethnic cleansing at the first opportunity they can get.

Serious

I know. They are worst than Arabs.

Kawa Asinger

They are worse than Arabs? Really you fascist scum!? Then why did all the Iraqi IDPs come to KRG and not Baghdad (the capital of all losers)? Over a million IDPs. And they all love Kurdistan. There are numerous videos online on how the Arab IDPs praise the Peshmerge and KRG. Fucking faggot. Here’s to ya! ?

northerntruthseeker .

Just like the ethnic cleansing that they are already conducting in Raqqa….

Kawa Asinger

Ethnic cleansing? According to whom? Bring the international studies that proves your claim. Bring it even from the Russian government. Where, exactly bitch doesn’t exist, because it didn’t happen. ?

Kawa Asinger

Really? Where are the picture? Where is the evidence? Where did this news come to you? From Erdogan, or ISIS? ?

Mikronos

It’s really surprising that so many Iraqi Kurds (7 percent) actually didn’t vote ‘yes’. Maybe some of the shedeen had a closer affiliation to Saddam Hussein than we thought.

Serious

It was a fake referendum. They just say a number.

Pave Way IV

The referendum supposedly included anyone in Iraqi Kurdistan borders, so Yezidis, Arabs, Turkmen, etc. over 18 were allowed to vote. Don’t ask me how they ‘established’ eligibility – the KRG can’t possibly have such mechanisms.

Kawa Asinger

A million refugees? I guess you pulled that number from your ass buddy. The KRG houses 1.8 million IDPs and refugees, majority are IDPs, displaced people which Baghdad refused to house. Iraqis which Baghdad did not give a shit about during the ISIS onslaught. So go fuck yourself prick! ????

Pave Way IV

That’s why I used the qualifier ‘Kurds’ with refugees, and in context was referring to non-Iraqi Kurdish refugees. Point was that Barzani was undoubtedly quite selective, allowing any Kurds within the autonomous areas borders to vote, but disqualifying or otherwise preventing any non-Kurd IDP or refugee from voting (presuming they would even bother).

That’s based on typical Barzani Mafia Rules applied in the past – I can’t supply a CNN-approved Facebook link as ‘prove’ this.

Zainab Ali

93% hell bound
7% the opposite way
makes sense for one of the many zio lapdog entities in the world

Kawa Asinger

Funny. Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria were colonial “Zionist” creations. These borders have never existed before, yet they are good guys because they happen to be genocidal megalomaniac psychopaths. You’re just another fascist, who has no evidence for what you say. The KRG has called for dialogue and peace for a solution to all the disputes between Baghdad and Erbil, but Baghdad wants war.

Trustin Judeau

Oh I am very interested what some pro Cuckzani people will say . They bash Assad because of his results on the election but here the result is even higher than the result of president Assad 3 years ago ( 88 – 89 percent was) Now you can say but it is difference – democratic referendum . I dont think so . There was really no campaign against this referendum . On paper there was but in reality was one sided

Serious

Did you see an election for SDF or FSA ??? XD.

χρηστος

correct …..Assad is a dictator when elected with 90% but when the Kurds vote…93% …noone questions this….the KUrds are known democrats

Serious Dude

I am afraid that both the coup of 1963 and the coup of 1970 were not “elections”. Would you want a Kurdish state if it was run by a pro-Assad dictator?

Pave Way IV

Do you mean instead of an incompetent, corrupt US/Israeli puppet?

Kind of a toss-up, isn’t it?

Kawa Asinger

What a load of shit you speak. Tell that to the Turk who buy weapons from Israel big boy. Your Heros of Islam seem to be very fond of funding Israel though buying their weapons. Fucking cuck! ?

Pave Way IV

Weapons? Oh, you mean the Israeli UAVs that Turkey will use to kill Kurds?

And US taxpayers will GIVE more free cash to Israel every year than all Turkish arms sales combined. The US has always and always will fund Israel. Token purchases by Turkey for political reasons don’t even register.

Serious Dude

Speaking about puppets, the ideology of Assad (Arabnationalism/socialism) was created by the British deep state (Fabian society) in order to break up the Ottomans who were allied with Germany.

Pave Way IV

This 2011 map of oil licenses ‘claimed and sold’ by the Kurdish autonomous region ‘government’ should put Barzani’s current territorial claims in perspective. ‘Kurdistan’ has magically expanded bit by bit to include damn near all the Zagros Belt oilfields in northern Iraq.

The Iraqi Kurds have voted to throw everything they have away in an elaborate resource theft scheme and the hope the US/Israel will somehow protect them from Iraq and Turkey when they attack. At the very least, Barzani should at least figure that Erdogan is going to stop transporting Kurdish oil through the existing pipeline. That alone will break ‘Kurdistan’ in a matter of months. No invasion necessary.

Keep in mind that the Kurds had no authority in 2011 to define oil exploration blocks on Iraqi sovereign territory or sell those exploration licenses to foreigners on Iraq’s behalf. They just did it.

Serious

Exactly the same thing they did in south sudan. The west has cut sudan in two parts to take the oil in south sudan. At that time also israel supported them. Now, they are in civil war and starvation. And Europe is taking the “refugees”. Prepare for milions of kurds to go to Europe as “refugees”.

MeMadMax

Yea, ain’t noone gonna say much to stop turkey/iraq if they decide to start blasting kurds.

Trustin Judeau

It is so funny that “independent” Kurdistan will depend on Tayyip . Cuckzani is putting himself in very bad situation .

Pave Way IV

Maybe not, Trustin. The Tayyip clan themselves were the most direct private beneficiary both ISIS and Iraq Kurd oil export. The Turk Ceyhan pipeline and storage made money too, of course. But Erdogan’s parasitic family is everywhere in that business taking their cut.

Pave Way IV

Interesting ‘vote’ figures:

“…Out of 3,085,935 valid ballots, 2,861,471 votes were for independence and 224,464 were against, 7.2 percent.

The electoral commission announced that 79,379 votes were spoiled and a further 170,611 were disregarded after reviewing complaints…”

80 thousand votes ‘spoiled’? 171,000 disregarded because of ‘complaints’? So almost a quarter million votes didn’t even count? WTF?

Good job, Barzani, you worthless criminal f#@%…

Kawa Asinger

There are an estimated 9.3 million Kurds living in Iraq. About 20%. And they are in Kurdistan Areas. Kirkuk and the disputed areas were suppose to vote in 2007 on joining KRG or Iraq. This was known as article 140 of the Iraqi constitution. Baghdad violated it, and a decade afterwards it has failed to hold that referendum, as stipulated in article 140. Kirkuk has been historically Kurdish, with an Assyrian minority living there as well. Turkmens came with the Ottomans. The Arabs were brought by Saddam Hussein from the south; whilst, displacing tens of thousands of Kurds from the city in an effort to alter the demographics of the province and city. The process known as Arabisation. Khaneqîn, is majority Kurds. Likewise mandalî. Shingall is also Kurdish. Mostly the minority Kurdish religious group the Êzidîs live there. Iraq is trying to centralise power and mirror its master – Iran. The constitution states that power is supposed to be shared, and Iraq to be federalised. But Haider Al-Abadi claims it is, but the reality on the ground says otherwise. In 2014 with the rise of ISIS thanks to Nouri al-Maliki’s armed forces of 50,000 abandoning Mosul, Kirkuk and other areas, and also surrendered their weapons to them. During that time only the Peshmerge fought ISIS and pushed them back. When the Iraqi army left Kirkuk to the mercy of ISIS the Peshmerge came in and defended it. So the Iraqi military can go fuck themselves.

Pave Way IV

The CIA ‘approved’ the candidacy/election of al-Maliki for one reason: they knew how much he hated Iraq’s Baathists and knew he would seek revenge on the Sunni for years of marginalizing Iraq’s Shia. He was a psycho chosen for a quick, heavy-handed de-Baathification of Iraq that, in itself, would guarantee a revolt by the Sunnis.

They also knew al-Malaki was an incompetent commander and a sociopathic thief (kind of like Barzani). Malaki was put in purposely to create an Iraqi failed state that could be partitioned a few years later. 140 was put there for residents to chose administrative control of Kurkuk, not for residents to vote on giving away Iraqi oil infrastructure and resources nearby.

Never heard the figure 9.3 million even if you include non-Iraqi Kurd refugees. That’s exceptionally high even by the CIA’s inflated estimates.

“…Likewise mandalî. Shingall is also Kurdish…”

The Yezidis might disagree. In any case, that doesn’t explain why most of the Yezidis choose to form their own autonomous region independent of the Kurd one. Which is one of the reasons Barzani/US let them be genocided before they sent any help.

“…The constitution states that power is supposed to be shared, and Iraq to be federalised…”

But it doesn’t say federalization based on states created by ethnic or religious criteria. Nonetheless, this was the US/Israeli partitioning plan – get Iraq to permanently partition itself progressively into smaller and weaker states (that could be manipulated more easily.)

“…Iraq is trying to centralise power and mirror its master – Iran…”

Excellent whitewash of history. A few years of the CIA’s psycho Malaki as president, and suddenly the decades of Iranian-Iraqi wars disappears along with Iraq’s previously centralized government during that war. Just looking at the corruption and incompetence, I think I could make a pretty good argument for Iraqi’s government trying to mirror their US master.

Re: Mosel “…During that time only the Peshmerge fought ISIS and pushed them back…”

Just like the US and cronies planned for their placeholder ISIS puppets. Give the former Baathists a black flag, sat phones and satellite imagery, steer them to places you want them to take from your incompetent puppet Malaki, and then have the Peshmerga ‘liberate’ those areas claiming them as Kurdish territory. The whole world can see this scheme playing out again in Syria. Killing a thief and taking the stuff he stole from someone else does not automatically make that stuff yours by matter of possession or historical claim. And in case you can’t fathom the idea, this exact same method will be used to partition Kurdistan in the future (just not with ISIS). I can’t wait until Barzani or his spawn start crying about foreign-hatched ‘schemes’ to destabilize Kurdistan.

MeMadMax

They couldn’t make it “100%” because that would be too obvious…

Either way, the morons just signed their own death warrant…

Kawa Asinger

If they cheated you should bring proof of such an occurance. Otherwise, keep your ASSumptions to yourself.

Rafik Chauhan

KURDS ARE STEALING LAND AND OIL FOR THEIER PERSONAL BENIFIT AND SPECIALLY FOR US/ISRAEL AGENDA. BARZANI KURS HAS BECOME TO NEAR TO ZIONSIT ISRAEL AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

Pave Way IV

The US and Israel are stealing land for the war with Iran – the oil is needed to prop up their puppet Kurdish state. The Barzani clan profits from the oil and various other criminal schemes.

I would hardly blame this on the five million or so Kurd ‘little people’. They have no idea what is really going on – the Barzani clan and the state own all the media. The little people Kurds will never see a dime of the oil money – it will all be stolen, lost or wasted by the KRG like it is now.

Kawa Asinger

Like the 200 Billion dollars that went missing from Iraq oil sales during Malikis government. But he is a good guy because he is an Arab, right. Why doesn’t Abadi bring him to justice, I’ll tell you why he won’t. Because the Iranians would kill him if he did.

Kawa Asinger

The vote is being held in Kurdish areas. Cities and towns that are Kurdish. If you don’t think so, bring your sources and back up your shit talking.

χρηστος

well Russia ,Turkey, iran, Iraq voted no…..lets see who wins.

Dod Grile

The question is how much of that was “THE GRAVEYARD VOTE?” No need to answer that, because before long it will be all the graveyard vote.

Another rigged “election” brought to you by George Soros Enterprises (div of CIA-Murder Inc).

Vote early and vote often.

Kawa Asinger

No source? No proof? Just hot air? Go see your doctor ?‍⚕️, you might be suffering from gastrointestinal problems. ? Emotions don’t mean shit, if you don’t have evidence big boy.

Pave Way IV

WTF is with your derisive use of ‘big boy’ ? Sounds like small penis syndrome – you should get some help for that.

Solomon Krupacek

had right to vote also non-kurds?

Admiral_Moorer_believed

I read that a lot of Dead peopel came back to life to vote. . .

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Like every election “I see dead people voting…” (best Joel Haley Osment voice).

Overwatch D.VA

Poor Kurdish people , they are suckered by the false promise from Israeli , they are being used as live pawn in israeli anti-iran long term strategy. They sell their lives and their children lives and their future for what ? They cannot endure a joint effort to blockade them , especially with the Turks hot on their heels , and the West cannot push the turks too hard because it might ‘destabilize’ their plan to keep Turks in their own fold, and might get NATO forces kicked out from turkey..

I predict :
– a massive blockade by surrounding nations
– massive migration of kurds to western nations to escape the upcoming war
– international protest campaign by the western MSM showing kurds under siege (who cares if gaza’s civilian suffered worse ? or yemeni civilians?)
– endless MSM potrayal of the ‘brave’ and ‘righteous’ kurds fighting all comers, including beautiful female ‘kurds’ ..
– a confused trump tweeting BS comment while realizing US have now extended too much and now forced to either push in more US soldiers to bolster the kurds , or to leave the kurds to their fate..
– Barzani arrested or assasinated and replaced by another stooge who stop this separation madness under pretext of seeking peace.

Any attempt to draw a line between kurdish independence and the fate of palestinian people seeking a nation will be squashed by the MSM , or labelled as anti-semite ..

Remember this quote “To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize” “

John Mason

Did the Kurds have Independant International Observers monitoring the voting? If not then the results should be viewed sceptically.
