Iraqi forces, supported by US-led coalition warplanes, artillery units and military advisers, have made singificant gains against the ISIS terrorist group in the eastern part of the Iraqi city of Mosul.
According to Iraqi Lieutenant General Talib Shaghati, Iraqi security forces (ISF) and the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), have taken control of about 70 percent of eastern Mosul from the terrorist group. However, ISF and the CTS are still need to secure the recently liberated areas of eastern Mosul.
The western part of Mosul and a large part of eastern Mosul remain under the control of ISIS terrorists.
