According to Iraqi sources, government forces forces are trying to liberate the Latin Church in the middle of the Old Mosul area to prevent ISIS fighters from detonating it.
Old photos show the area of the Latin Church:
Iraqi forces maintain positions 50 meters from the recently detonaited Al-Nuri al-Kabir Mosque in Old Mosul. ISIS destroyed the historic mosque yesterday and claimed that the US-led coalition was the one who destroyed it. However, a video from the area proved that ISIS had destroyed the mosque from inside it.
ISIS killed an Iraqi soldier and destroyed a vehicle and a bulldozer of the Iraqi Army in Old Mosul.
Separately, the ISIS-linked News Agency Amaaq published photos showing the ISIS attack on an Iraqi Army camp in the Al-Gouna area on the Syrian-Iraqi border opposite of At Tanf. ISIS claimed that 17 Iraqi soldiers were killed in the attack.
It has become clear that the remaining ISIS fighters in the Old Mosul area are unable to organize any significant defense, and they are not expected to surrender to the Iraqi Army. However, they are going fight until they are killed.
Where we can see the Agency Amaaq video?
Opposite al Tanf , is al Waleed , is al Gouna , east of that ?
