Iraqi Forces Advancing from North and South in Fallujah to Divide ISIS Pocket

The Iraqi military and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units have launched and advance on the ISIS-controlled city of Fallujah from the southern and northern flanks in order to divide the encricled ISIS forces.

Lieu. Gen. Raed Shaker Jawdat announced on June 15 that the Iraqi forces have liberated the neighbourhoods of al-Khadraa, al-Shuhada and al-Resala of the city.

Separately, the Iraqi Security Forces have entered the al-Jbeil neighbourhood.

Pro-government sources report that the Iraqi Air Force has also destroyed 3 ISIS vehicles and 12 ISIS fighters in the area.

A Russian-made TOS-1A MRL has been spotted during the battle for Fallujah. The Iraqi army uses such systems to destroy ISIS positions near the city:
