On Friday, Iraqi forces liberated the southern part of Al-Sargkhana district in the Old Mosul area. Iraqi forces now control more than half of the Old Mosul area. Meda reports that the whole city is now under the control of government forces are not true. Iraqi sources also said that only about 100 ISIS members remain in Old Mosul.

Iraqi forces rescued 14 Yazidi children in Old Mosul among hundreds of evacuated civilians. Furthermore, government forces captured ISIS commander, Jazaa Dabas Rawi, in Old Mosul too.

From its side, ISIS claimed that 12 Iraqi soldiers were killed during clashes in Al-Sa’a area, Bab al-Toub and Corniche Street in Old Mosul. ISIS fighters are desperately trying to stop the advance of the Iraqi military.

The ISIS-linked News Agency Amaaq published photos showing the ISIS attack on an Iraqi Army position in Jouna area near the Iraqi-Syrian border.
It seems that ISIS is planning to focus its future activities in the desert area between Syria and Iraq, especially in the Anbar Desert, just like before 2014.
