An advisor working for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had died from injuries sustained in an Israeli strike that targeted a highly-secured neighborhood in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on October 1, Iran’s Student News Network reported on October 3.
The news network identified the slain guard’s advisor as Majid Divani, without providing any further details about his rank or work.
An Israeli strike targeted on October 1 the Mazzeh Western Villas neighborhood in Damascus, where several Syrian security and military headquarters as well as embassies and United Nations agencies are located.
Citing a Syrian military official, the Syrian Arab News Agency reported at the time that Syrian air defenses intercepted a number of Israeli missiles and drones which were launched from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights.
The strike killed three civilians and wounded at least nine others, according to the unnamed official. One of the victims was a Syrian state TV news female anchor.
Israel has significantly escalated its attacks on Syria since the outbreak of the war in the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip, targeting Syrian military sites as well as personnel of the IRGC, Hezbollah and other factions of the so-called Axis of Resistance.
On October 2, Hassan Jafar Qassir, the son-in-law of late Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, was reportedly killed in an Israeli strike that hit the Mazzeh Western Villas neighborhood.
The death of Divani will not likely provoke a response from Iran, which launched a large-scale missile attack against Israel after he was wounded in Damascus.

where is the multipolarity? as long as us/uk/israel bomb with impunity, ever closer to russian bases in syria: there is no multipolarity. not until russia recognizes israel as a rogue state breaking international law and thus ineligible to dictate to russia its terms
on preemptive defense/ targeted action on syria. a country that is still reeling from a decade+ of foreign aggression. stand up to israel, russia!
russia should arm all resistance groups with advanced weaponry. but also, russia needs to take a symmetrical approach and stand up for the multipolar world orders at this point, it should be both asymmetrical and symmetrical responses.
russia should just nuke israel, d.c, batican, london, switzerland and other zionist holez, so no one on the planet has to play these bullshit banker contrived hunger games anymore. its time the planet move on from this rothschild inspired bullshit-dystopia of zionist supremacy, its nothing but supreme fraud, supreme bullshit, and supreme genocide. we’re all sick of it.
what precisely is “standing up for the multipolar world orders”?
apart from arming the resistance. russia & china should also help iran broker unification in the region. iran is doing more for arabs than many arab states. the most important thing for the region is unity. there needs to be a new muslim bloc that goes beyond sectarian and nationalist divides. a muslim bloc based on the joint interests of brics
…a bloc that is prepared for the new multipolar world order and cooperates in all fields, not just security but also: science & technology.
i know it is an uphill battle. and may sound too optimistic for some. but the groundwork is already happening, it just needs a greater push. and great powers like russia and china can help materialize multipolarity, and thus help ensure a viable, prosperous, and peaceful future for all.
i believe you are right and those things are happening. sunni arab states seem more inclined to make peace and accords with iran. i hope that a bloc can form with mutual security guarantees. that will bring much needed stability to the region.
you don´t know what is said behind closed doors and neither do i, but many on here were also very quick to condemn iran for “not doing anything”, and now that they have, they´re pushing russia to get involved. if you guys want wwiii, just say so, instead of beating around the bush. russia updated its nuclear posture, i think that´s sending a signal already.
so many military analysts will tell you: russia is one of the most difficult countries to analyze unless you see everything through a long term scope. simply, it’s the us/uk & israel who benefit from war in the short term and not brics. if you look at israel, it is trying to set the whole region on fire, and we see the same in the east now with ukraine and taiwan.
the west needs war. the east and brics does not. it’s as simple as that. and russia will expend all its soft power and assymetrical means before it decides to engage in a direct confrontation versus the us/uk/ & israel…
^ my personal opinion
i hear you, look, brics is in its infancy, and it´s not a military alliance. russia has repeatedly called out the rogue, rabid nature of the israeli regime over the past year, and we´re witnessing direct attacks on russian troops in syria now. i´m sure putin is working behind closed doors to convey a powerful message. not all has to be communicated publicly, that was my point
derp? russia “recognizing” israel as anything is going to determine israeli action in syria? the jewish supremacists have attacked whomever they wanted, whenever and however they wanted for eighty years.
no, it’s not just condemnation. by recognizing israel as a rouge state, i am talking about finally acting against idf bombings of syria. i mean finally activating the s400 against all threats — not just relaying targeting data to the syrian arab army.
up to now, they haven’t targeted the idf even though they are more than capable of doing so. russia should at least give the saa the ability to defend their country against the idf using the s400’s. otherwise multipolarity is a sick joke and a pipe dream… if they don’t enforce intl. law when they could… then brics is d.o.a.
is that all israel/us can do?? com’on, iran just wiped out your entire military bases. israeli the terrorists.
