For the Iranian government, the Lebanese movement of Islamic resistance represents the persistent cravings of the Islamic community to accomplish independence, freedom, justice and face extremism and terrorism as well.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hussein Yaber Ansari, stated on Thursday that declaring the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement (Hezbollah) as a terrorist group aims to harm the interests of Muslim countries and the Islamic community. “With these allegations and negative propaganda, the Arab authorities want to intimidate the rest of governments (…) and also negatively affect the interests of the Islamic countries being aware of that fact or not”, the official said.

Ansari praised the role of Hezbollah and their struggle against the Israeli regime. “Hezbollah has become an important symbol of resistance against the Israeli regime due to their straightforwardness towards the usurpers and also due to their solidarity with the Palestinian people”, Ansari claimed on Thursday.

He also claimed that the cited movement represents the persistent cravings of the Islamic community to accomplish independence, freedom, justice and face extremism and terrorism, therefore, the opposition of some Arab governments to this group doesn’t justify their synchronicity with the usurper regime of Israel decision to call it a terrorist organization.

These declarations took place after the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) included Hezbollah in their “black list” of terrorists. The States member of the GCC: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Kuwait were the ones who qualified as terrorist the Lebanese militia.

The Secretary General of GCC, Abdelatif Zayani, indicated in a press release that the organization recruits youngsters (from the Gulf) to carry out terrorist attacks, however he didn’t present any proof of it.

The Shi’a Lebanese movement, Hezbollah, is, altogether with the Kurd militants in the north of Syria, one of the main allies of the government of the president Bashar Al Assad in the fight against the terrorist forces of the so-called Islamic State and the Al Nusra Front.

With the beginning of the ceasefire in Syria on February 27th, Saudi Arabia, altogether with Turkey, have strengthened their aim to depose the Syrian president.

Experts assure that the declaration of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization is part of the campaign against Bashar Al Assad.
