Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has struck several United States military facilities in Jordan and Bahrain, including the headquarters of the Navy’s Fifth Fleet, in the latest round of missile and drone strikes carried out in retaliation for continued American violations.

The Guards laid out this latest stage of their response in three separate statements issued early on the morning of July 14.

The first statement said the IRGC Navy had struck several weapons support depots, a satellite communications center, American troop accommodations, and a number of military radar systems in Bahrain, claiming all were destroyed.

A second statement said the IRGC’s Aerospace Force carried out coordinated missile and drone strikes against the Fifth Fleet’s headquarters, setting its fuel storage facilities on fire.

The same strikes also destroyed a Patriot radar system, the Fifth Fleet’s air-control radar, and a C-RAM early warning radar system, according to the Guards.

A third statement said the Aerospace Force had launched ballistic missiles at a facility and personnel location at an air base in Jordan.

The Guards noted that the air base had previously been used to launch strikes against Iran, and that “the American criminals have now been made to pay for their actions,” adding that the same site had been used in February in an attack on a school in southern Iran. They stressed, however, that the response was not directed at the Jordanian people.

Sirens sounded in Bahrain at least three times in the early morning, according to the country’s interior ministry, and in Jordan, the military reported that four Iranian missiles were intercepted over its territory. There were reports of impacts in both countries.

Overnight, another wave of U.S. strikes hit southern and southeastern Iran. Central Command later said its forces had successfully struck military targets across Iran, including Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas, to further degrade the Islamic Republic’s ability to attack commercial shipping.

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence announced earlier that two national oil tankers, Mombasa and Al Bahiyah, were targeted by two Iranian cruise missiles in the southern passage of the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC took responsibility, saying it struck two “rogue” tankers which were “deceived by the U.S.” into using the southern shipping route through Omani waters with their navigation systems switched off.

The escalation will likely continue, as Trump himself has promised that strikes on the Islamic Republic will continue into the next night.

The memorandum of understanding signed by the U.S. and Iran last month to end the war has not yet collapsed, but all of its terms have been violated. Trump has even reinstated the blockade on the Islamic Republic. A return to the deal is highly unlikely unless regional mediators manage to achieve a breakthrough on the issue of the Strait of Hormuz.
