On November 26, the Russian military advanced south, east and north of Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia, amid heavy airstrikes on Kiev forces inside the key city.
The Vostok [East] Group of Forces expanded its control in Huliaipole’s southern and eastern outskirts, securing more than ten square kilometers. Preliminary reports also indicate that Russian troops have already established a presence in the city’s eastern part. However, it is still early to consider that the battle there has begun.
In addition to these gains, the Russian Aerospace Forces have stepped up strikes on Ukrainian fortifications inside Huliaipole.
To the north of the city, the Vostok Group of Forces secured an area close to 13 square kilometers in size to the east from Dobropillya and Varvarika, which are both located right on the Haichur River.
Russian troops also made gains around Dobropillya. An area with a size more than 14 square kilometers was secured along the eastern outskirts of the settlement. The capture of the settlement seems a matter of a few days only, and after that remaining Ukrainian defenses along the Haichur, mainly in Varvarika, will likely collapse quickly.
Away from Huliaipole, the Vostok Group of Forces continued its operations in Dnepropetrovsk, most notably in Novopavlivka.
While most of the large settlement is already under the control of Russian troops, Kiev forces are still fighting in several areas, mainly in the northern and southwestern parts, where they are using the Solena River, which splits the settlement in half, as a natural barrier.
To the south of Novopavlivka, the Vostok Group of Forces secured little over 20 square kilometers, with most of the territories located to the east of the road linking the settlement with Dachne to the south. Ukrainian troops who remained to the south of the settlement are very much trapped now.

The recent gains by the Russian military around Huliaipole, and even in Novopavlivka, show that Kiev forces do not have the resources to keep fighting between Zaporizhzhia and Dnepropetrovsk, especially when it comes to manpower. A major collapse there could take place there soon.
