According to the testimonies of Ukrainian POWs, the Ukrainian military command is often sending servicemen to combat operations, claiming that the minefields were cleared and the areas were secured. As a result, Ukrainian soldiers are dying before they reach the frontlines. A lot of them are heavily wounded. They lose their legs and are maimed for life.
The Ukrainian counteroffensive on the Zaporozhie front is significantly complicated by densely planted Russian minefields. The Ukrainian military has already lost a large part of its demining equipment and armored vehicles, including those supplied by NATO, that are used for demining of security corridors necessary for offensive operations.
However, the expensive foreign equipment is more precious for Kiev than soldiers that are used as cannon fodder on the battlefields. As a result, Ukrainian servicemen are demining the Ukrainian steppes by foot.
Another video from the front showed a group of Ukrainian soldiers sent to the heavily mined area.
