The Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered heavy losses as a result of a single Russian strike. On February 3rd, Russian missile struck Ukrainian forces near the village of Ivolzhanskoe in the Ukrainian border Sumy region. The successful strike was confirmed by military monitoring sources.

Russian reconnaissance UAV detected the area of accumulation of large Ukrainian forces, including armored vehicles and military personnel of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a forest near the village of Ivolzhanskoe. The area was immediately covered with Tornado MLRS with cluster munitions. The Ukrainian military suffered heavy damage as a result of the attack. Only a few Ukrainian vehicles were able to escape.
In total, the Ukrainian military attempted to hide dozens of armored vehicles and units of different military equipment. According to preliminary estimations, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost about 20 armored fighting vehicles and 15 transport vehicles. Ukrainian forces reportedly lost about a hundred soldiers killed and wounded as a result of a single strike.
The village of Ivolzhanskoe is an important logistics hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine operating on the northern frontlines. The N07 highway from the capital of the region Sumy passes through the village and allows to supply military equipment and manpower to Sudzha in the Russian Kursk region.
