Another wave of airstrikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) hit militants in Syrian Idlib and Aleppo governorates, where several terrorist groups are based.

In early hours on December 30, Russian warplanes carried out an air strike on a terrorist facility in the Kafr Uruk area in Idlib governorate.

Other targets of the VKS were facilities of Turkish-backed militants near the city of Daret Izza in Aleppo governorate. The strikes were carried out in the Sheikh Barakat Mountain area.

Recently, the Russian pinpoint airstrikes destroyed the bunkers, which were built by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the 111th Regiments Base near the town of Sheikh Suleiman in the western countryside of Aleppo. It’s unclear when exactly the airstrikes took place.

Russian airstrikes are a response to regular ceasefire violations by HTS and its allies. The ceasefire agreement was brokered by Russia and Turkey on 5 March of 2020. While Russian warplanes are bombing militants’ facilities, Turkey is training them in the region on the use of armored vehicles and battle tanks.
