Russian military sources shared footage of another successful strike of Lancet UAV. According to preliminary reports, the target was Ukrainian Gyurza-M-class small armored gunboat.
The boat came under attack in the Berezansky estuary near the village of Chernomorka, Ochakov area in the Mykolaiv region. The footage confirmed that the boat was likely heavily damaged.
The Ukrainian military uses these boats as floating anti-aircraft guns on the Dnieper River, including for the defense of the capital Kiev from Russian strikes. While, they seem ineffective against Russian missiles, they could help intercept Russian drones. The routes of Russian drones often lay along the rivers and water reservoirs in order to make them more difficult to be detected by Ukrainian radars. If the deployment of such boats near Kiev seems quite reasonable, their stationing in the ports in the southern regions near the frontlines makes them easy targets for Russian forces.
nato is desperately trying to build drones as well as the russians have and are offering contracts for emp drone counter weapons.
