The newly shared footage showed a precision strike of Russian Lancet on the US-made HIMARS MLRS in the Zaporozhie region. The system was destroyed on the road near the village of Novosoloshino located 25 kilometers northwest of the town of Gulyai Pole.
The video shared by Russian military sources was filmed by Russian reconnaissance UAV which coordinated the strike. Russian reconnaissance revealed the route of the convoy and the Lancet UAV precisely struck the vehicles. HIMARS MLRS is usually loaded immediately before the strikes that is why there was no secondary detonation seen on the video. Judging by the footage, the US-made HIMARS MLRS was destroyed and burned out as a result of the Russian strike.
most of the precious US-made MLRS are currently deployed on the eastern and northern frontlines inflamed by the most active battles. The deployment of the HIMARS systems on the southern Zaporozhie front marks new escalation in the area. The Russian army resumed offensive operations and achieved new gains in different directions in the Zaporozhie region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have to reinforce their defense and deploy additional systems in the area. As a result, they are destroyed by Russian precision strikes.
HIMARS MLRS are capable of launching ATACMS ballistic missiles. After the Ukrainian military is allowed to attack the Russian rear regions with these missiles, the destruction of as many HIMARS MLRS as possible is of strategic importance.
