Video footage showing a Russian Kh-22 cruise missile scoring a direct hit on a rig in the Black Sea used by the Ukrainian intelligence to facilitate drone attacks on the Crimean Peninsula surfaced online on June 10.

The missile was one of several launched by Tu-22M3 strategic bombers during a large-scale attack on Ukraine over the night of June 8 and 9. This specific strike targeted the 1995-built jackup drilling rig Tavrida. The rig was clearly destroyed as a result of the strike.

According to Russian media, the rig was occupied by the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, also known as the GUR.

A launch pad for naval drones, electronic warfare systems, communication systems, and a drone refueling point were installed on the rig by the GUR, effectively turning it into a forward base for drone operations targeting Crimea and the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy.

The Kh-22 is a large, long-range anti-ship missile with land-attack capability that was developed by MKB Raduga in the Soviet Union.

The older versions of the Kh-22 had a range of 600 kilometers only. However, the missile’s newest version, dubbed Kh-32, features serious upgrades on all levels.

The Kh-32 was designed to climb to 40 kilometers, to the stratosphere, after launch, transition to level flight, then perform a steep dive to the target. This version was also designed to target enemy ships, as well as radars, and radio-contrast targets like naval rigs, bridges, military bases, electric power plants and others.

The missile is equipped with an inertial navigation system and an active radar homing head, making it independent of satellite navigation. Presumably, it has a range of 1,000 kilometers and a speed of over Mach 4,6. The missile is armed with a 1,000 kg warhead. A version armed with a 500 kg warhead with an even longer range was reported. A nuclear-armed version was also developed.

Ukraine has admitted that the missile is nearly impossible to intercept. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi revealed last year that only 0.55% of Kh-22/32s were being intercepted by the country’s air defenses.

you probably have to do it yourself, russia are to occupied by kill europeans for “us” sins. its christianity, you know, childs, women, or at least europeans. start by shot the police, and get someone to take a new shot at the saviour, adolf trump.

Dunk

notice that russia is switching away from satellite navigation on its missiles and drones to counter the wests electronic blocking , this show russian scientists are thinking on their feet and as soon as adverse results occur they invent methods that are invulnerable to attack and interference .for all the so called wests “might ” its obvious western military technology and its scientists are far behind russia.

to be fair, this technological advance that russia has over the west has been apparent for quite some time now. just look at the difference in hypersonics. the west tries to downplay it as good as they can, but it’s quite apparent they used ukraine to do their dirty work for them, and not get directly involved.

Western Forces

one of these needs to be dropped on bundov however you spell it, can’t stand him
