The Russian military has destroyed yet another American-made M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launcher of Kiev forces using an Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile.
The HIMARS was targeted near the settlement of Sergeyevka in the Kramatorsk-Druzhkovsky direction. Video footage of the missile strike was posted to social networks on April 18. The strike shredded the launcher into pieces, with secondary blasts from the ammunition setting the forest where the vehicle was taken cover on fire.
Since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, the United States has supplied Kiev forces with at least 39 HIMARS launchers. Last year, Germany promised to buy three more for Kiev forces.
These launchers are typically armed with M30/M31 series GMLRS GPS-guided rockets, which have a range of more than 70 kilometers, or MGM-140 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles with a range between 165 and 300 kilometers depending on the version.
The Iskander-M, which has been used to take out multiple HIMARS launchers so far, is said to have a range of nearly 500 kilometers.
The highly-maneuverable missile can be armed with different conventional warheads, including a cluster munitions warhead, a fuel–air explosive enhanced-blast warhead, a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, an earth penetrator for bunker busting and an electromagnetic pulse device for anti-radar missions.
The missile is guided by a GLONASS-aided inertial navigation system. It can be also equipped with an optical seeker with a digitized scene-mapping area correlator system for terminal guidance.
Most of the HIMARS launchers supplied to Ukraine have been already destroyed or damaged by the Russian military using Iskander-M missiles and other precision-guided weapon

how about the ukrainian mig and f16 launching missile and glide bombs in occupied territories. why russian air defense cannot detect and take them out. think that russian arsenal is severly weakened. look how soldiers on the frontline are being transported on made up tractors and broken cars. russia has 2 million soldiers working on ukraine now and only 1/5 of ukr is occupied with no signs of eu uk and ukr letting up. it’s a disaster for russia.
