The Russian military has been using multirotor drones to hunt down Ukrainian military boats operating in the Dnieper River.
Video footage posted to social networks on July 30 shows three Ukrainian speed boat with troops onboard being hit by FPV suicide drone. Another boat, that appears to be unmanned, is seen in footage being targeted with a grenade-dropping drone.
Kiev forces continue to use boats to move reconnaissance and sabotage groups across the Dnieper, as well as to transport supplies.
However, most of these high-risk operations take place at night. Thus, the drones the Russian military is using to hunt down Ukrainian military boats are all equipped with thermal imagers.
The Russian military expanded the use of all types of multirotor drones, from suicide drones to interceptors and grenade-dropping drones, in recent months, and is reported to be deploying upwards of 1,000 ones against Kiev forces on a daily basis.
In addition, the military has been testing many new concepts, like FPV drones armed with rocket-propelled grenade launchers or machine guns.

on jul 29, 2025
al-suwaidaa province: a united nations convoy carrying civilians from al-suwaidaa to damascus came under direct gunfire in al-daraa province, ending with a young girl critically injured after being shot.
the convoy departed from the un headquarters in al-qusour neighbourhood in al-suwaidaa city, including vehicles from the un and the syrian red crescent.
upon reaching the administrative border between al-suwaidaa and al-daraa, un vehicles suddenly withdrew, leaving passengers to continue the journey in civilian buses operated by “al-tawfiq” company.
at this point, religious and government figures, including a bishop from al-daraa, appeared alongside pro-government media outlets, attempting to use the situation by urging passengers to give statements falsely claiming “the people of al-suwaidaa want
general security to enter and impose stability.” however, most passengers were un staff, not christian civilians.as the convoy entered al-daraa, tensions sharply escalated. witnesses told sohr that there were armed tribesmen, members of general security, and vehicles with blacked-out windows bearing islamic state insignias, which repeatedly provoked the convoy.
in the izraa area, gunmen boarded some buses, abusing and threatening passengers. some were only allowed to pass after confirming the presence of lebanese nationals and “not of druze from al-suwaidaa”.near the al-daraa roundabout, the convoy came under direct gunfire, critically injuring a young girl in the neck.the driver was forced to stop amid chaos and panic, as dozens of armed men surrounded the area.
red crescent and white helmets teams intervened to evacuate the wounded and transport passengers to safety.
the attacks forced civilians to abandon the buses and fled in private vehicles that took them urgently to lebanon via the damascus route.
the armed assault came as official media claimed that the convoy was “a christian displace from al-suwaidaa,” while the victims were un staff and ordinary civilians subjected to threats and violence during their passage through al-daraa.
