The Afrin Liberation Forces (ALF) claimed on October 4 that their units had killed two Turkish service members and four local militants in a series of operations in northern Syria.

The operations, which took place on September 30 and October 1, were carried out in the southern part of the occupied area of Afrin and in the vicinity of the town of Azaz.

A video released by the ALF shows one of the operations, during which two fortified positions of the Turkish military in the district of Shirawa in southern Afrin were targeted with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).

The Turkish military, which usually acknowledges its losses in Syria, has not commented on the ALF’s claims so far. The Turkish-backed National Syrian Army (NSA) is also ignoring the claims.

The ALF is one of several Kurdish guerrilla groups operating south of Afrin. The group is launching its attacks from the area controlled by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
