The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on November 27 that its fighter jets destroyed a underground precision-guided missile manufacturing site of Hezbollah in Lebanon before the ceasefire brokered by the United States went into effect in the early morning.
Fighter jets pounded the location for over four hours, the military said in a statement, adding that the attack dealt “a blow to the Hezbollah terror organization’s ability to produce weapons.”
According to the IDF, the site was hidden in a subterranean complex that stretched for 1.4 kilometers near the town of Janta in the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, very close to the border with Syria.
The precision-guided missile manufacturing site was built by Hezbollah several years ago with support from Iran, the military said .
Before attacking the site, planes struck the surrounding area, including a central base of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force. The IDF estimated that dozens of the group’s fighters were killed in the strike on the base.
The site was used by Hezbollah to build precision surface-to-surface missiles and other weapons, as well as to store the guided missiles, according to the IDF, which noted that Iranian personnel also worked at the facility alongside Hezbollah members.
The military added that the site’s proximity to Syria allowed Hezbollah to smuggle into Lebanon thousands of components to build the precision missiles, as well as for personnel to travel between Syria and Lebanon.
“This was Hezbollah’s most strategically significant production facility in Lebanon targeted during the war. The strike was made possible by a precise intelligence file that was collected and built over the years,” the IDF said.
Hezbollah fired dozens of precision-guided missiles into Israel in the months leading to the ceasefire in Lebanon. Some of the missiles were made in Iran, like the Fateh-110, others were Syrian-made M302 heavy artillery rockets modified with guidance kits. The group however claimed that some types, like the Qadir-1 and 2, were made locally in Lebanon.
The group’s precision-guided missile attacks were not as successful as the strikes carried out using much smaller and simpler suicide drones.
The IDF’s allegation about the site targeted before the ceasefire may be true. However, it may also be just a propaganda stunt meant to fend off internal criticism for the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah. The group continued to launch attacks against Israel, even using precision-guided missiles, until the very last few hours before the ceasefire came into effect.

yet when they were there they couldn’t provide any proof about an underground command center. and another thing, if they had the information about this underground facility where hezbollah makes rockets, why not attack it much before in the war and why only 4 hours before the ceasefire? did they suddenly remember it at the last moment?
well, what i know of the cease-fire agreement would seem allow the zionist entity to freely launch attacks, just as america can send in lots of contractors to assist unofficial zionist formations and a suitably politicised lebanese army to disarm hezbollah. better still, negotiations can lead to the border being advanced well to the north, expanding zionist territory.
