In Video: ISIS Terrorists Attacked Border Guards Checkpoint In Egypt’s Sinai

On November 28, ISIS’ news agency, Amaq, released a video of the recent attack by the terrorist group in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

The attack, which took place two days earlier, targeted a checkpoint of the Border Guards in the area of al-Marajidah on the coast of Rafah city in northern Sinai.

The video shows ISIS terrorists targeting the fortified checkpoint with machine guns, sniper rifles and grenades. Amaq claimed that several Egyptian service members were injured in the attack. However, the video does not confirm this.

The video shades light on the arms used by terrorists in Sinai and their sources. The terrorists can be seen firing from a German-made Heckler & Koch G3 battle rifle and what appears to be an Austrian-made Steyr HS .50 sniper rifle.

An Iranian-made copy of the HS.50, dubbed AM-50 Sayyad, is known to be used by the Hamas Movement in the nearby Gaza Strip. On the other hand, the G3 rifle was spotted years ago with Libyan rebels.

Following the outbreak of the Libyan civil war in 2011, Sinai became a hub for arms trafficking between Libya and the Palestinian Gaza Strip. ISIS terrorists are clearly taking advantage of this illegal trade. Meanwhile, Egyptian authorities are struggling to close smuggling routes.

The al Sisi regime, which blew up tunnels conveying food and medicine and even shoes to the Gaza strip, is “struggling” to control smuggling routes, is it? What more does it plan to do, join with the zionist entity to invade Gaza?
