In Video: ISIS Claimed Responsibility For Deadly Attack In Syria’s Daraa

ISIS has claimed responsibility for an IED attack on military vehicles of the Syrian Arab Army. According to the ISIS claims, the incident took place on November 8th. Four SAA servicemen were reportedly killed as a result of the explosion.

A military convoy was hit on the road between the city of Al-Shaykh Maskin and the town of Izra in the Syria’s Daraa district.

ISIS militants have increased their activities in southern Daraa a few months ago. In May 2021, they carried out several attacks on the SAA.

Al Qaeda supported Hezbollah in Israeli-Lebanese war.

The Objective

Looks like Russia will have to agree to a political settlement instead of pushing for an Assad dictatorship. ISIS can only be defeated by the combined forces of Turkey, America, Russia, Iran and Israel. And only a political solution acceptable to all can lead to cooperation on ISIS.
The ISIS problem is continuing to grow and I expect Russian troops to start feeling the heat as well if things continue along this trajectory. If the AKP wins in Turkey again (which is almost certain), the Syrian war will get tougher for Russia and Assad because Erdogan will not abandon the Sunni opposition to Assad. In the end, Assad and Russia must sit down at the negotiating table with the Syrian opposition. But this will happen only when Russia is fully convinced that it cannot reinstate a dictatorship in Syria. For now, Putin is still trying his luck.

Turkey supports Islamist dictatorships so they are not really against democracy right? Iran, Pakistan, Sudan and Azerbaijan are all dictatorships but Turkey supports them.
