UPDATE: A press secretary of the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Republic of Artsakh), Vahram Poghosyan, confirmed that Armenian forces have lost control of Shusha. Meanwhile, Armenian military blogs and patriotic media still deny this citing ‘own sources’.

The Armenian defense in the central part of the Nagorno-Karabakh region officially collapsed. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry released a first video confirming its control over the town of Shusha, just south of the capital of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Stepanakert.
Armenian sources still claim that an intense fighting has been ongoing in the Shusha area. However, the video from the town shows that the town is empty. Therefore, this fighting likely already moved towards the northern countryside of the town.
