In Maps: Libyan National Army Continues To Expand Its Influence In Southern Libya

According to recent reports, the Libyan National Army (LNA) have got control of the villages of Misiqwin, Hummayrah and Budayr and therefore almost encircled the town of Umm al-Aranib in the southern part of the country. This development is the latest in a series of LNA advances in this part of the country.

The LNA launched a military operation there in 2019 in order to eliminate various militant and criminal groups operating there. Another reason is to expand and consolidate own influence across Libya. With every successful advance, the LNA is becoming closer and closer to a total domination in the war-torn country.
