Houthis Target Saudi Military Positions And Vehicles In Jizan With Guided Missiles And Artillery

On December 19, the Houthis media wing released a video showing Houthi fighters destroying two armored vehicles of the Saudi military east the al-Dud mount in the Kingdom’s southern province of Jizan with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).

The video also shows accurate strikes by the Houthi artillery on several positions and a gathering of the Saudi military in the region.

Last week, the Houthis carried out a large attack on several positions of the Saudi military in the al-Dud mount. The attack was successful and Saudi soldiers were forced to withdraw leaving behind their injured comrades.

These cross-border attacks by the Houthis are clearly a response to the Saudi-led coalition repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Yemeni province of al-Hudaydah. According to Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces [an ally of the Houthis], coalition forces fired 43 shells and 13 rockets at residential areas in the province on December 19 only.
