Colonel Turki al-Maliki spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition revealed during a press conference on December 20 that the Houthis had fired 83 ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia since the beginning of the Yemeni war in 2015.

During the conference, the Saudi-led coalition spokesman claimed that 85% of Yemen is under the control of the coalition forces. However, many observers doubted this statement because the Houthis are controlling a large region between the provinces of Taiz, al-Hudaydah and Saada. Moreover, ISIS and al-Qaeda control large region in eastern Yemen, some of their positions are even near the strategic city of Aden.

Col. al-Maliki went on, and claimed that 11,000 fighters of the Houthis were killed during the few recent battles in Yemen. Saudi Arabia’s main ally in Yemen, pro-Hadi forces claimed on December 17 only that 1175 fighters of the Houthis were killed in the recent battles. This contradiction shows the poor level of propaganda of the Saud-led coalition.

Regarding the humanitarian efforts in Yemen, Col. al-Maliki stressed that the Saudi-led coalition is allowing all aid ships to enter the Houthi-held port of al-Hudaydah. Al-Maliki also announced that the Saudi-led coalition will allow fuel tankers to enter the port within the upcoming 30 days.

The Saudi-led coalition spokesman also confirmed that the coalition and pro-Hadi forces are now working to capture the Yemeni capital of Sana’a. Many Yemeni activists warned that the battle for the Yemeni capital is near especially after the evacuation of the Syrian, Russian and Iranian embassies there during the last few weeks.

Is there independent verification of this number? The saudi/NATO liars are completely unreliable sources, certainly (NATO are the better, more professional liars, of course).

Garga

Saudis count the territory under AQ and other terror groups their own territory and who can blame them? They are the same after all.

It sounds quite plausible, especially if you count the neighboring territory Narjan and Jizan which would include short range missiles / rockets. 85 is a very small number if you think about it. It shows what a valuable deterrence a large ballistic missile arsenal can be, too bad the Yemeni arsenal is so small.
