The Houthis carried out two successful military operations in the southern Saudi province of Najran on May 27 and 28.
In the first operation, the Houthis captured the key position of al-Tal’a al-Hamra’ in the southern part of Najran. During the clashes, Houthi fighters destroyed at least two vehicles of the Saudi-led coalition.
The second operation took place in the area of al-Shabakah, also in southern Najran. Houthi fighters imposed control of a key hilltop, known as Mehran, after killing several Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters.
In the last few months, the Houthis intensified their military operations in Najran. Their operations allowed them to maintain an important military presence in the southern part of the Saudi province. Moreover, these operations caused heavy losses in coalition forces.
