On April 11, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) attacked two airfields in the southern region of Saudi Arabia with suicide drones.

Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the Yemeni group, announced that two Qasef-2K drones had been launched at Jizan Regional Airport in the province of Jizan and King Khalid Air Base in the province of ‘Asir. The drones targeted warplanes shelters.

The spokesman claimed that the attack was successful. According to him, the attack was a response to the Saudi-led coalition continuous strikes and siege on Yemen.

From its side, the Saudi-led coalition claimed that it had intercepted two drones launched from Yemen by the Houthis. The first was shot down over the city of Khamis Mushait near King Khalid Air Base, while the second was shot down over Jizan.

The Houthis stepped up their drone attacks on Saudi Arabia this April. In the first ten days of the month, the following attacks were reported:

  • On April 1, sensitive targets near the Saudi capital, Riyadh, were struck with four drones;
  • On April 1 also, King Khalid Air Base in ‘Asir was struck with two drones;
  • On April 6, King Khalid Air Base in ‘Asir was struck again with two drones;
  • On April 8, King Khalid Air Base in ‘Asir was struck again with a drone;
  • On April 9, Jizan Regional Airport was struck with a drone;
  • On April 9 also, Abha International Airport was struck with a drone.

The Houthis are using their drones to disturb the aerial operations of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen. The coalition appears to be incapable of stopping these attacks.

Its such a shame that the many billions of dollars that the KSA has spent on expensive military boys toys that are not able to defend their most precious military and economic possessions.

Perhaps a Crowd Funding effort to assist MBS and his gang of thieves could be undertaken by an effigy of Pol Pot ?

S Melanson

I just sent MBS some Canadian Tire money but I do not think any amount of money thrown at the Yemen War black hole will help. The “Coalition” is calling for a ceasefire as Houthis advance on three sides against Marib – that tells you all you need to know about how badly the battle for Marib is going for the Coalition of (in)convenience. Expect the Coalition to delay as much as possible admission of defeat in Marib – will do so only after it has become blatantly obvious the city has fallen.

The Empire of Chaos always demands a ceasefire when its proxy’s are on the back foot :)
Syria is a prime example of US double standards.

The Houthis have learned a very important lesson in defensive warfare.
When the enemy attacks you at your home base, you reciprocate as soon as possible and as much as possible until the invader is defeated.
In other words you don’t just sit back and wait for them to attack you.
Bring the death and destruction home to them.
Good job!
