Houthis Attack Saudi-led Coalition Troops In Sanaa With Armed Drone (Photos)

On November 22, the Yemeni Air Force [loyal to the Houthis] announced that one of its Qasef-1 armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) had carried out a series of airstrikes on a large gathering of Saudi-led coalition troops in the district of Nihm in the central province of Sanaa.

“The attack was carried out with a Qasef-1 plane and achieved its goal … it resulted in heavy casualties in the ranks of the aggressor’s mercenaries,” a source in the Yemeni Air Force claimed, according to the Iranian al-Alam TV.

From its side, the media office of the Saudi-backed wing of the Yemeni military announced that a Qasef-1 UAV of the Houthis had been shot down over Sanaa. Photos of the UAV’s wreckage shows no bombs. This indicates that the drone carried out the attack successfully before being downed.

The Qasef-1 is a copy of the Iranian-made “Ababil-2”, according to a report of the Conflict Armament Research (CAR) group. The Houthis used Qasef-1 as a suicide UAV when it was first introduced in 2017. However, the UAV was modified later to carry and drop small-diameter bombs.

Last week, the Houthis halted their missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia and the UAE as a goodwill gesture. However, the Yemeni group continued its attack against the Saudi-led coalition inside Yemen because the coalition didn’t halt its military operations on the western coast or in Sanaa.

Saudi-led coalition troops = radicalized Wahhabi nutjobs

The Houthis need to scale up their drones large enough to drop 55 gallon-sized barrel bombs of Hexogen and rusty nails on the Wahhabis’ heads.
