Houthis Advance In Saudi Arabia’s Jizan, Kill Several Sudanese Soldiers (Video)

Earlier this week, the Houthis launched a new military operation near the al-Dud mount in the southern Saudi province of Jizan. In the course of the operation, the Houthis captured several key positions from the Saudi-led coalition and killed many personnel of the Sundanese military.

A video of the attack, released by the Houthis media wing on April 25, shows Houthi fighters targeting positions and gatherings of Saudi-led coalition forces with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. The bodies of several Sudanese soldiers can be also seen.

The Sudanese military is the third biggest contributor to the Saudi-led coalition after the militaries of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Since the outbreak of the war in 2015, more than 1,000 Sudanese soldiers and officers have been killed in Yemen by the Houthis.

April 11 coup d’état in Sudan didn’t change the country’s stand on the Yemeni war. Sudan’s Transitional Military Council is head by Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan, a former commander of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen. The general stressed right after his appointment that Sudan will continue to support the war on the Houthis.

Despite the massive support from the Sudanese military, the Saudi-led coalition has failed to secure the border with Yemen so far. A goal that will not likely be accomplished any time soon.

The Saudi losers should be ashamed for making the poor Sudanese mercenaries die for $200 in a alien land against some of the world’s toughest fighters. The Houthis or more correctly Ansarallah (soldiers of God) are on a roll now as they get more modern weaponry and their recruitment pool grows.
