Over the past week, China’s Hong Kong has faced a series of anti-government protests. On July 1, protesters even stormed and briefly seized the Legislative Council (LegCo) building. The main reason behind the protests is the extradition bill, which is now under consideration in the LegCo. The bill is designed to allow extradition of detained criminals from the city. The development was also used by anti-Chinese forces to carry out a broader anti-Beijing campaign in the city. Yes this sounds like this bill can be used for political reasons, just if this form of protest is no Soroz-revolution, then it’s quite childish.
