On March 30, Hezbollah launched a new wave of attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) from its heartland, southern Lebanon.
In three separate statements, Hezbollah said that its fighters fired Burkan improvised heavy rockets at the Ramim barracks and shelled the base of Khirbet Maar and the Radar site. In two other statements, the group announced attacks against gatherings of Israeli troops at the sites of al-Malikiyah and al-Rahib.
Hezbollah also said in another statement that its fighters struck a building in the settlement of Admit where Israeli troops were situated.
The six attacks were carried out in support of the Palestinian people and resistance as well as in response to recent Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, the group noted in its statements.
In addition, Hezbollah’s Military media released video footage showing a missile strike from earlier this week that targeted a building occupied by Israeli troops in the settlement of Avivim.
Hebrew media didn’t report any casualties as a result of the recent attacks. Still, the IDF said that it struck sites used by Hezbollah in the towns of Taybeh, Naqoura and Hanine in southern Lebanon in response. The military released video footage of the strikes.
Another strike hit a United Nations vehicle near the town of Rmeish, wounding three observers and a Lebanese translator. However, the IDF denied responsibility.
Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza last October, Hezbollah began launching near-daily attacks against the IDF in support of the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian armed factions in the Strip.
So far, the border clashes have resulted in eight civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least ten IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 300 people have been killed, including 246 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 60 civilians.
