Hezbollah launched dozens of rockets from Lebanon on November 3, targeting several gatherings of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
In separate statements, the group said it shelled gatherings in the settlements of Kedem, Shamir, Shlomi, Rosh Hanikra, Baram, Metzova, Even Menachem, Shomera and Zer’it.
The IDF said that more than 60 rockets were launched from Lebanon at northern Israel, with some being intercepted by air defenses and others impacting open areas. Hebrew media didn’t report any casualties, although human losses are usually not acknowledged by Israeli authorities immediately after such attacks.
Amid Hezbollah attacks, the Galilee Medical Center announced a man died of wounds sustained during a rocket barrage fired at the town of Nahariya last month.
The man was reportedly hit in the head by shrapnel after a barrage of 25 rockets targeted Nahariya on October 23. He was hospitalized in intensive care and underwent a number of surgeries, the medical center said.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, with Hezbollah launching attacks in support of the Palestinian enclave. Israel escalated its attacks on Lebanon starting from September 17 and on September 27 it assassinated the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nassrallah.
The IDF officially announced the launch of a limited ground operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on September 30.
The confrontation has so far resulted in 40 civilian deaths in Israel and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights as well as the deaths of at least 61 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, more than 2,800 people have been killed, including more than 500 members of Hezbollah.
