Hezbollah carried out on September 15 a series of attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), launching dozens of rockets and multiple suicide drones.
In a statement, Hezbollah said that it fired dozens of Katyusha rockets at the headquarters of the 188th Armored Brigade in the Rawiya barracks.
The group announced in other statements that its fighters struck a technical system of the IDF in the al-Malkiya site and a gathering of Israeli troops in the site of Metula using suicide drones. It also said its fighters shelled artillery positions in the area of al-Zaoura with rockets and struck surveillance systems in the sites of Rwaysat al-Alam an Ramia using guided missiles.
The attacks were carried out in support of the Palestinian people and resistance in the Gaza Strip as well as in response to recent Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, Hezbollah noted in its statement.
From its side, the IDF confirmed that a barrage of more than 40 rockets was fired from Lebanon at the Galilee Panhandle and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, with many being intercepted by air defenses. It also confirmed that a drone struck Metula. No casualties were reported by Hebrew media, however.
The IDF announced later that it struck several rocket launchers of Hezbollah in the southern Lebanese town of Rachaya al-Foukhar. Lebanese media didn’t report any casualties.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza, with Hezbollah and its allies launching attacks against the IDF in support of the Strip.
The border clashes have so far resulted in 26 civilian deaths in Israel and Golan as well as the deaths of at least 20 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, more than 870 people have been killed, including 440 fighters of Hezbollah and over 150 civilians.
