Hezbollah fired on September 20 dozens of rockets from southern Lebanon, targeting several key positions of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

In separate statements, the group said that the rocket attacks were directed at: the main base of the Northern Command’s air and missile defense in the Beria barracks; the air and missile defense headquarters in the Kela barracks; the headquarters of the 188th Armored Brigade of the 36th Division in the Alika barracks; the headquarters of the missile and artillery battalion in the Yoav barracks; the headquarters of the Golan Division’s combat group in the Yarden barracks; the headquarters of the 210th Golan Division in Nafah; the new headquarters of the 91st Division in Ayelet Hashahar and a gathering of troops in the site of Metula.

The attacks were carried out in support of the Palestinian people and resistance in the Gaza Strip as well as in response to a violent wave of Israeli strikes that targeted Lebanon a day earlier, Hezbollah noted in its statements.

The IDF said that more than 150 rockets were launched from Lebanon at northern Israel, with many being intercepted by air defenses.

Still, Hebrew media reported material losses and fires in several areas, including near the city of Safed. A single person was also wounded.

In response to the attacks, the IDF said that it struck a building in the town of Kafr Kila where a Hezbollah fighter was spotted in addition to other building used by the group in the towns of Aitaroun, Kafr Kila, Mays al-Jabal, Taybeh, Odaisseh and Yaroun. All of these towns are located in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah mourned two of its fighters during the day. Nevertheless, Lebanese media didn’t report any casualties among civilians.

Hezbollah and its allies in Lebanon have been launching attacks against the IDF in support of Gaza since the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Strip last October.

So far, the limited confrontation has resulted in 26 civilian deaths in Israel and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights as well as the deaths of at least 22 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, more than 900 people have been killed, including 480 fighters of Hezbollah and over 150 civilians.
